The Artemis program is a US government-funded manned space flight program that aims to land “the first woman and the next man” on the Moon, specifically in the south lunar pole region by 2024. The program is carried out predominantly by NASA , American commercial space flight companies contracted by NASA and international partners such as the European Space Agency (ESA), the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) and the Australian Space Agency (ASA).
